Ms. Mickey (Poinan) Dobberstein

Mickey began dancing at the age of three and has continued since then. She has won numerous awards at Regional and National levels for group, duet, and solo dance competitions. She has taught dance lessons to students in Rochester and Syracuse.

Mickey began Cheerleading in ninth grade at Rush-Henrietta Senior High School and won numerous local and national competitions with these squads. Mickey won the Greater Rochester Senior Individual Cheerleading Competition in 1996. Mickey has taught many Cheerleading workshops and camps. She attended Syracuse University with a major in Sociology. At SU, she was a Syracuse University Cheerleader, was on the Syracuse University Dance Team and was a dancer and choreographer for Dance Works. She is a former member of the Rochester Brigade dance team, the Rochester Rhinestones (dance team for the Rochester Rhinos) and the Rochester Elite All Heat All Star Cheerleading Squad.

Currently, Mickey is the Varsity Cheelreading Coach at Brighton High School, is an Advertising Rep for the Democrat and Chronicle and is teaching dance lessons at AST. The students at AST have been lucky to have Mickey's skill and energy as a dance instructor since 2003. Mickey married Rob Dobberstien in June of 2008 and currently lives in Fairport.
