Mrs. Gina Ferraro
Gina Ferraro began her early ballet training with Pamela Wilkens White in Rochester, NY. After finishing high school, she attended and graduated from Mercyhurst College. At Mercyhurst, Gina earned her B.A. in Dance, with a concentration in teaching and choreography. She also gained the privilege of being a substitute instructor within the college’s dance department. While residing in Erie, PA, she had the opportunity to perform with the Erie Ballet Theater. She enjoyed her time performing in classical ballets and new choreographic works. Some classics performed were Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Song of Norway, Coppelia, and The Nutcracker. Gina was able to work with instructors that came from many renowned ballet companies, both ongoing and through master classes. These teachers came from companies such as, Ballet West, Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, New York City Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, BalletMet and many more. In her sophomore year, Mrs. Ferraro was chosen to be in Bolero. This was a ballet choreographed by world renown flamenco dancer Luis Montero. Mrs. Ferraro also taught at Erie Bayfront Ballet, and helped stage classics such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Gina moved back to Rochester eight years ago and has taught locally since her return. She has choreographed/directed a full length ballet of Alice in Wonderland and has had the pleasure of being on the exam jury at School of the Arts for the last three years. Gina continues to take master classes when they are available and thoroughly enjoys teaching.
